Full Stack Developer
You will work across the whole stack — the interfaces people use, the services behind them, and the data pipelines that feed both. Expect to design a schema, build the API over it, and ship the screen that consumes it. This is a hands-on role with direct access to senior architects, not a ticket queue: you will see how architectural decisions play out in production, because you will be the one running them.
What you will do
- Build and ship user-facing features end to end — React or a comparable framework on the front, Java or Node services behind it.
- Design and operate data pipelines: ingestion, transformation, and the scheduling that keeps them honest when a source changes shape.
- Model data properly — relational schemas that hold up under load, and document stores where they genuinely earn their place.
- Design REST APIs documented with OpenAPI that another team can integrate against without booking a meeting.
- Deploy and run services on Kubernetes with Helm, meaningful probes, and CI/CD that makes releases routine rather than an event.
- Own reliability across the stack: instrumentation, dashboards, and the failure modes that only show up at 3am.
What you bring
- Commercial experience building full stack applications — you have shipped both the interface and the service behind it, not just one side.
- Strong backend fundamentals in Java (Spring Boot or Micronaut) or Node, plus enough Python to be useful in data work.
- Front-end capability with React or equivalent — you can build a clean, responsive interface without waiting for a designer.
- Genuine data engineering experience: SQL well past
SELECT *, pipeline design, and an instinct for why a query got slow.
- Containers and Kubernetes used in anger — not just followed through a tutorial.
- Based in Perth, or willing to relocate. We will consider sponsorship for the right candidate.
Helpful, not essential
- Warehouse or lakehouse exposure — Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks or similar.
- Streaming and orchestration tooling: Kafka, Airflow, dbt.
- Observability with Grafana or Prometheus, or resilience testing with something like Chaos Mesh.
- A cloud certification (OCI, AWS or Azure), or open-source work you are happy to point at.
